Assassin 79 RP

By now, you should know what RP means. If not, there will surely be a friendly forum member who can explain this to you. http://www.sudocue.net/images/a79v2.png 3x3:: k:7424:2561:2561:2561:4868:4868:4614:4614:4614:7424:7424:4619:4619:4619:4868:4868:4112:4614:2578:7424:2068:2068:3350:3350:4112:4112:4...

Yesterday I encountered a 3x2 isolation pattern:

Code: Select all

+---+ +---+
n n n
+ + + +
 n n n
+ +---+ +

resolves to:

+---+---+---+
n n n
+ + + +
n n n
+---+---+---+

Edit: I've called this the sixpack isolation

Thanks para , for adding this variant. Here is a situation that I encountered several times in a grid: 1 2 2 1 When these are the only two possibilities for 1-2, placing 2-2 would eliminate both of them. Therefore you can eliminate 2-2. These do not have to be in a single line, of course. Anyone who...

No guessing is required. You progress through the puzzle by eliminating possibilities and finding placements, same as in Sudoku. The candidates are all pairs of adjacent cells (numbers in the grid). To eliminate a candidate, simply draw the border between them. To place a candidate, draw the border ...

Domino puzzles

I have built a new program called DominoCue . It is a generator, helper and solver for domino placement puzzles. I'm still refining it, but it can already create interesting puzzles. In a Domino puzzle, you do not need to place any numbers, because they are already in the grid. All you have to do is...

Hi Novajlija , welcome to the site. Let's suppose that number 5 is in R8C1 or R9C1 (they are in line) then R5C1=8, R4C7=8, R8C7=5. Then we can eliminate 5 from R9C1. The last node in your chain should be R9C7=5 . The chain is a classic Forcing Chain, but you do not need to consider R8C1=5, just R9C1...

Hi Lindy, welcome to the forum. The difference between Clueless Specials and Clueless Explosions is in the distribution of the blue cells, which form the 10th grid. In the special, a 3x3 box in the blue grid matches a single box in one of the 9 base grids. In the Explosion, a single box in the blue ...
