Nice April Fool's Day post Frank!

Taking the point of rating this diagram, there are 81 Naked Singles so the score must be slightly greater than zero.

I know the regular members here usually eat "monsters" and this V1 could look very easy in comparison. But on other forums, most will find it "just the right difficulty". You are right that on other forums this would be "just the right difficulty". I started doing kill...

That looks a useful improvement JC! Now a question, probably aimed at Ed and Mike since they started the discussion of 2-cell cage blocks and ALS cage blocks in this thread. Are the following thoughts correct? 13. 23(4) cage at R8C4 = {3569/4568} (cannot be {1589/1679/2489/2579/2678/3479/3578} which...

Interesting comments, JC. After Afmob's step 5d there is Naked Quint {12345} in R12789C6, my step 15. Then 5 in C6 is locked in R12C6 -> only one of 1,2,3,4 can be in R12C6. Does JSudoku spot these steps? Before that, instead of Afmob's step 5a, I used two steps (13 and 14 in my walkthrough), first ...

Thanks Afmob for mentioning my steps 11 and 16. I was pleased when I found step 11, which I found the most enjoyable step for this puzzle. As you say combining those two steps with your step 5c would make a short walkthrough. Ed's SS moves are interesting. The first one is straightforward once one h...

An attractive but deadly cage pattern that should require a tad more brain power than last week's puzzle, although nothing an experienced Assassin forum member shouldn't be able to handle... Wow, this was a tough one! It stretched my brain power to the limit. The start was easy, then I ground to a ...

Thanks Mike! :D That was a neat move. Definitely worth one of Afmob's !s as it broke this puzzle open. I must learn to spot that sort of move. So easy to understand but not so easy to spot. I had a feeling that there ought to be something better than my contradiction move but I guess I was still fee...

Thanks for a fun puzzle Ed! :D By the way, I finally got the status "Addict" which more fits I think . Congratulations! It won't take you too long to reach Expert and Master, which are also appropriate! Afmob's steps 2d and 3b are the sort of steps that are so easy not to spot; I mis...

I solved Bored89-Hard last week but only went through Afmob's walkthrough yesterday. A really challenging puzzle. Thanks Nasenbaer! Changing the cages in N5 took away the useful 5(2) cage in C6 making it a lot harder than the Easy version. Afmob used some heavy combination analysis. I must admit I c...

Afmob and Andrew will probably have a good laugh at this one, when they see what techniques I was resorting to! I suspect I've missed something important, but at least my approach should make for some interesting reading if nothing else! I hope so. Good to see that you posted your walkthrough, Mike...

Thanks Ed for the update to the SS scores, rounding them to 0.05. It's interesting that you have also chosen to narrow down your comparison from +/- 0.25 to +/- 0.15. It's good that you have the confidence to do that. :D It's interesting how removing UR from the SS score has little effect on several...

Great work Ed and Richard! =D> Some very good points by Afmob. I agree that SS scores shouldn't go in the rating sticky because they depend on the version of SS. BTW the original rating sticky for A50 to A74 said that a few puzzles couldn't be solved by SS, stating how many steps were done. I wonder...

Thanks Jean-Christophe. A fun puzzle! :D Although I used the same key moves as the others, I missed one early move - Afmob's step 2c, step 1 in Mike's optimised walkthrough - only seeing my step 8 instead. That led to some significant differences in my solving path including a couple of fun steps la...

Thanks for a fun puzzle Mike. :D The solution really flowed well with my only real work being to put steps in the right order to simplify my solving path. Caida, Afmob and I also solved it by similar routes so there appears to be a fairly well defined although not narrow or difficult solving path. H...

Many thanks to Nasenbaer for the latest challenging puzzle. :D As Afmob said, it was a very demanding killer and the moves were very hard to find. On Tuesday and Wednesday I think I only found 6 or 7 moves each day but I never ground to a complete halt. Then today I found steps 33 and 34, after whic...
