What about {3679}?
That would mean 6 or 9 in r4c9

r4c9 = 6 -> r4c456 = {379} -> 3 in r5c5 would put 2 3's in 22(49
r4c9 = 9 -> r4c456 = {367} -> r5c5 = 8 -> not possible

Sorry, corrected it right away (that's what happens when you do cut&paste and get distracted by a PM) :cry: {1489) doesn't break up 12(2) you have {57} as possibility right? Correct, but {1489} is not placable in 22(4) because there is no 4 possible in r5c5 ([1]{89} has to be in r4c456} Now I ha...

OK, just started working on your steps, here is a first comment. 8. 26(5)n47 {34568} combo blocked. Here's how 8a. {34568}-> r8c2 = 9 -> r8c3 = 5 -> r6c2 = 5 -> rest of 26(5) in n7 = {3468} -> r9c23 = {27} but this means the remaining cell in 19(3) = 7 = {277} This should read: 8a. {34568}-> r8c2 = ...

Assassin 38

A really tough nut, Ruud. IMHO it was harder than your album killer. But after I realized what the key was it got easier. So here is the walkthrough, as always in tiny font. Edit: Additions/corrections in blue, thanks to Ed Walkthrough Assassin 38 0. Preliminary steps 0a. 26(4) at r1c1 : no 1 0b. 11...

Sorry, can't help you with the album, I'm not a music freak. :wink: But here is the walkthrough for the Album Killer (in tiny font). That was a real tough nut, Ruud. Walkthrough Album-Killer 0. Preliminary steps 0a. 19(3) at r1c1 and r1c8 : no 1 0b. 6(2) at r1c5 : no 3,6,7,8,9 0c. 22(3) at r3c8 : no...

Thanks for setting the picture, Ed. After redoing the puzzle (and knowing what moves to use) I might have to lower my rating to might-have-been-an-assassin-killer-six-months-ago. :wink: If you find yourself doing heavy combination checkings (that's what I was doing the first time) you definetly shou...

Noncon Killer

I like nonconsecutive sudokus. And I like killers. So why not combine them? Here is a first try. It's not too complicated but you'll need the nonconsecutive rule. Nonconsecutive: Neighbouring cells (horicontal and vertical) can not have consecutive numbers, for example 2-3 or 6-7 are not allowed. 3x...

Very nice, Ed. Easy start with a lot of eliminations for N123 but then you have to take your time until it falls. Here is a walkthrough, as always in tiny font.
