Ruud, Second Comment: One thing I noticed is that when a smaller size for the SudoCue grid is chosen, some of the right hand menu items are not displayed (like Extra and Help). Now, since I set the size to the smallest setting, I cannot get the Extra menu item back to change the size back. Regards, ...

Hi Ruud, It is nice to see a new version of my favorite program available. Thanks for adding the clover variant. If you have time, can you modify the printed versions of the asterisk, center dot, and clover puzzles to show the special cells like the other variants? This would be really helpful for t...

Wayne Gould's Website

Unless I typed something wrong, sudoku.com and sudoku.net now go to a realarcade website. Wayne has a website called waynegouldpuzzles.com For over a year users of his program were promised that an upgrade would come out. One never did. But why would anyone need it with SudoCue just begging itself t...

Ruud, The lucky clover looks like a a WinDoku and and asterisk puzzle put together. Perhaps another variant for the next version of SudoCue. Hint Hint For the next version, please remember to highlight the asterisk and center dot cells for on-screen and printout solving. Everyone at SudoCue Forum ha...

Pete, Thanks for your message. I understand the parsed string format is different. I will probably write a routine in basic to take care of that. Yes, I said basic. That is where my programming left off and I still use it. Your reply to the difficulty levels of Jaap's puzzles really didn't help me. ...

Pete, Thanks for the link. What difficulty level does one need to use that will crrespond to the weekly Samurai puzzles that Ruud so graciously provides us each Tuesday? It would be nice to have a nice Samurai generator, that consistently produces puzzles with the solving techniques used for the wee...

I guess what someone finds hard, others will find easy. I thought 29 was very easy. However, 28 had the same rating and it took me forever to find the key to unlock it. I suspect frame of mind, tiredness, and a little luck is what makes the difference. I am awaiting the birth of my first grandchild ...

Cell Phone Access to sudocue.net

I just bought a cell phone with internet capability. I tried our favorite website. A couple of questions come to mind that perhaps some of you might know the answer to: 1. The main menu that is across the screen seems to display with all of the menu options listed down the page. However, there is no...

Hi JC, Thanks for the replies. A question about the solvers. I wasn't clear in the manual about one point. Does the selection of the solvers remove that particular technique from being used in the generation of a puzzle? What I would like to do, is to generate a jigsaw puzzle with all techniques fro...

Hi JC, Thanks for the information in your last message. You mention that I can use JSudoku to generate a puzzle for a jigsaw pattern I created. I presume I enter the pattern through the design menu option. Can I then save that pattern to load it up again without having to re-draw it? If you have a f...

Hi JC, I look forward to trying your program this evening. I am looking at it at work, but cannot take the time to get into in detail. Is it possible to take a particular jigsaw template in SumoCue and use it in JSudoku? I added some of my own designs to SumoCue and would like to be able to use one ...

What is the website for JSudoku? I saw one with that name (version 1.85). Is this the same program that JC mentioned in this thread?

Will this program allow the user to generate jigsaw puzzles?

Regards,
George

Ed and Glyn, Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate seeing better ways to get at the answer. Both of your shined your light to make that happen. I never thought of a "Jigsaw x-wing" until I read the responses. Does SumoCue identify that technique? Since that seems "easier" ...
