My turn for a Monday post. My WTs are therefore improved and, one could say, partially optimised You have the balance just perfect I reckon Andrew. They are methodical ( not a criticism), so human and have a good selection of creative moves - especially the hidden subsets and direct links. Do...

isn't the rating of previous WTs only going to be accurate if they are optimized first? Could be - we'll see I guess. Sudoku Solver works like this too - not optimized at all. Would be so easy if it just did the most productive thing for each step rather than strictly in the routine order - humans ...

Assassin 66 V1.5.. I would be interested to know what rating Richard's software would give to this: The most recent method would get a score of 1.52 . The same scoring method gets a 1.25 for A66 . Some of the scores sound OK - throw in A67 as 0.89 - but the problem is the number of forum ratings we...

Yippee! Thanks azpaull - you've lifted me out of my ratings gloom. Been waiting and waiting for the 2nd generation of assassinators :bounce: .

Become verbose if you like - I'll take over the lurking duties  .

Cheers

Thanks everyone for giving your ratings . I'm still spending every spare second trying to find a way to get a numeric/software rating. My prediction for A66 was a solid mid 1.25 ...hmmmmm. Way off again. Back to tweaking. Richard has been working tirelessly on this. He's made a wonderful spreadsheet...

thanks for all your great work on this, Ed! :D Thanks Mike. I feel like I've abandoned/missed out on all the other great things happening here - Nouggie's first walkthrough, A61X....64V2, TJK 032, rating sticky etc etc...[edit: and Para's Unsolvables - aaargh  ] I'm wondering whether you've c...

here's my suggestion for an informal numeric rating scheme . Time to touch base on this (all-consuming-of-late  ) topic. I've been trying very hard to develop a more formal/objective numeric score for Killers using the fantastic versatility of Sudoku Solver . Just wanted to show where I'm at...

MOAX. Great memory Para. I'd forgotten about that one. Richard , I'm really enjoying using Sudoku Solver. Congratulations - it's fantastic being able to save progress, bookmark, back-track etc. Seems that the current version (1.4.0) has some bugs with the solver. ](*,) It suddenly can't solve Assas...

manual work... involved in the production of the RP Lite.....roughly 8 hours . We must be bonkers to make these versions. 8-) Finally found a nice solution to RP Lite - after nearly 3 weeks. Congratulations to Para in getting it (and a walk-through!) soooo quickly. =D> Haven't had a chance to look ...

Great idea Para (and Glyn). Brings back lots of memories looking through that list. I realize I missed Mike's Assassin 61X V3 from the ratings page so will add that in. Sorry Mike. Can add one more to the list. This one didn't have a pic - but should be a real good solvable puzzle. Better to call it...

Wow Mike. What a puzzle is RP Lite! I've been trying and trying to get ready for this post - but still don't feel I've found a solution I'm happy with so have some more work to do yet. I want to respond to how you used software steps before posting this puzzle. Hmmm. Do you solve your V2's(V2 just m...

If it's any consolation, JSudoku can't solve it! True - but only after 200 Ctrl D before DNF (had the pic hidden of course). Which means it's an absolute grinder. Not worth the effort. Here's just a couple more for the record before the (emoticon here with white flag). 28. no 6 r3c1. Here's how. 28...

Cathy's steps 11 and 12 were neat with steps 13 and 14 using the same principle as step 11. That's a technique that I don't think I've seen before. It works as follows If there are 2 cells in one row RaCxy which total n more than another cell RbCx in a different row, then cell RaCy cannot contain n...

In this case, the impact was fairly small A fair summary for this (Assassin) forum Mike. I like the way you put into words the unwritten 'rules'. Though would hate for them to become rules . I don't feel real comfortable when you talk about the other forums though - (including TJK). Hope I can add ...
