I agree with Cathy, relatively straightforward. Nothing spectacular, one nice move i hoped to put to use in a walk-through for once. (Not that it was actually necessary, but sometimes it can break open puzzles, like one of my V2's)

There's a huge number of conflicting combinations for analysis in the log you provided. I'm not masochistic enough, nor do I really have enough time to spend on puzzles requiring such detail. Can mere mortals manage it without solver assistance? We'll see what Para, Mike and anyone else can come up with ...

Bad move, JC, to post a JSudoku log whilst a tag solution is in progress. The whole point of a tag solution is that it should be a team effort, not an individual effort, as is usually the case with the V1's.Jean-Christophe wrote:Here is the log without naked & hidden singles. Here's the next set of moves for the V2. The first move in the sequence cracks the puzzle. The rest should be just a formality now.
The puzzle wasn't anything like as difficult as the A48-Hevvie. This is because this puzzle was real close to caving in. Just needed one key move to topple it (see step 32 below).
32. Implication chain eliminates 8 in R2C3
32a. R2C3=8 -> R2C4=2 -> R2C1=3 -> R1C12={78} -> R2C3<>8 (contradiction)
32b. Conclusion: no 8 in R2C3

That's because it will exhaust all possible moves a technique may make before trying the next technique. It had to resort to several Complex XY-Chain to crack it. That's a new technique which is similar to mhparker's step 32.CathyW wrote:I look forward to it JC.
