Unique subset (uniqueness test 3) with naked triple example

Post by unkx80 »

In the solving guide, you said that:
It is also possible to form a naked triple with the surplus digits and 2 extra cells. Currently, I have no example available.
I have an example that I use to test my own solver, but I forgot what is the starting position or where I took it from:

Code: Select all

.---------------.---------------.---------------.
| 67 8 67 | 5 29 1 | 249 *49 3 |
| 2 5 9 | 3 7 4 | 8 6 1 |
| 3 4 1 | 6 289 28 | 5 *79 279 |
:---------------+---------------+---------------:
| 8 1 457 | 9 6 *35 | 24 *3457 2457|
| 679 679 2 | 8 4 *35 | 1 *3579 579 |
| 49 3 45 | 2 1 7 | 6 8 459 |
:---------------+---------------+---------------:
| 479 79 8 | 1 35 6 | 349 2 459 |
| 1 29 3 | 4 258 28 | 7 #59 6 |
| 5 26 46 | 7 23 9 | 34 1 8 |
'---------------'---------------'---------------'
As a result, 9 is eliminated from r8c8.

SudoCue found another equally valid elimination using uniqueness test 4.

Thanks a lot. I will add this example to the guide until I found one in my own collection.
