So far so good with the jigsaws but today's has defeated me. Anyone solved it? Is it possible without T&E?

T&E = Trial and error

But yes it is solvable by logic.
A few colouring/LOL steps.

greetings

Hoi

Law of Left-overs on/op R89

For who isn't formiliar with Law-of-Leftovers, you could check here.
http://www.sudopedia.org/wiki/Law_of_Leftovers

R6C9 + R7C489 = R8C12 + R9C12

These cells contain the same digits. Of these squares there is only one cell empty. So R9C1 = R7C4. So R7C4 doesn't contain a 6.

This same technique can be implemented om column 8 and 9. And also on column 6,7,8 and 9.

Also i would take advantage of the strange shapes of the pieces.

I eventually used a colouring step to crack the puzzle.
I am not sure it is really needed to solve the puzzle but you should ask Ruud this question.

Anders moet je hier even lezen.
http://www.sudopedia.org/wiki/Law_of_Leftovers

groeten

Para
