Another similar pattern is the Y-Wing (also called W-Wing in Sudopedia ): The 8 at r4 locked at r4c27. Whichever the location, either r5c1 = 5 or r9c7 = 5. Therefore r9c1 <> 5 = 6 Written as an AIC: (5=8)r5c1 - (8)r4c2 = (8)r4c7 - (8=5)r9c7 -> r9c1 <> 5 I personally find it easier to spot than an XY...

Well, the logic is exactly the same, but personally, I find it easier to spot the pattern I mentioned in particular since: it's confined in two adjacent rows and is almost an X-Wing

Note: The skyscraper eliminates 3 from both r2c5 and r5c4 at once

Alternate hint 1: There is also a skyscraper on same digit and location, which is probably easier to spot.

Windoku Killer 3 (WK3)

Here is a Windoku Killer. It does not require any hard technique as long as you use the windows and hidden windows. http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/1069/wk3st3.png 3x3:2:k: 5121:5121:2818:2818:2563:2564:2564:3589:3589:5121:4870:4870:2818:2563:7943:7943:7943:3589:3848:4870:3849:3849:5386:5386:7943...

JC, I think that there are some misunderstandings here, respectively some unfortunate phrasing Sorry, I misunderstood the question. My question to you was: Does JSudoku always generate CEs that require Center-Dot Sudoku techniques for solving? No, it does not. Indeed the generator and recursive sol...

Correct,
I noticed 5 new members who joined from April 1st.
However, none were ever posting a message.
Although Ruud removed the "Memberlist" link, the page is still there :!:

Which begs the question: Are the clueless puzzles in all your Explosions center-dot? To my recollection, all of Ruud's Explosions that I solved never were. All 9 Sudokus in Clueless Explosions are center-dot by definition. As Ruud explains here (bold text second paragraph :roll: :roll: :roll: ) But...

Yes, I found it easy too. 1a. 17/2 @ r34c9 = {89} (NP @ c9, HW @ r234c159) b. 12/2 @ r34c1 = {57} (NP @ c1, HW @ r234c159) c. 23/3 @ r678c5 = {689} (NT @ c5, HW @ r678c159) d. 9/3 @ r234c5 = {234} (NT @ c5, HW @ r234c159) e. r2c19 = NP {16} @ r2 f. 7/2 @ r12c9 = {16} (NP @ c9, n3) g. 10/2 @ r67c9 = ...

UA97 V2 is not that hard if you spot the right In/outies: 1. n8 a. Innies @ c5 -> r89c5 = 6 = {15|24} b. Innies @ c6789 -> r89c6 = 15 = {69|78} c. Max r8c56 = {59} = 14; 18/3 -> Min r8c4 = 4 d. Innies @ c1234 -> r89c4 = 12 = [93] | {48|57} e. h6/2 @ r89c5 -> r9c45 <> 6/2 -> r9c6 <> 9 = {678} f. h15/...

Let's hope someone posts another puzzle, or variant on Afmob's one, so that Afmob has something to solve. :wink: Preferably only about a 1.5. Nasenbaer wrote:Oh, one more thing one or the other might frown upon: you will need uniqueness to place the last numbers.
Uniqueness can be used only for grids with a unique solution which is not the case for this grid since it has 3 solutions. :? i.e. this grid is invalid.

I usually do not rate puzzles, but I personally did not found it really hard. I would even say it's easy if you're familiar with Kakuro. 1. n8: a. Innies @ c1234 -> r89c4 = 15 = {69|78} b. Innies @ c6789 -> r89c6 = 6 = {15|24} = {4|5..} c. Innies @ c5 -> r89c5 = 9 <> {45} = {18|27|36} d. 13/3 @ r9c4...

Thanks for the WT, I'll study it. Here are the "tricky" moves which could help simplifying the WT. Indeed I designed both versions around these: For V2: In/Outies @ r5 -> r46c5-r5c19 = 13 Max r46c5 = 17 -> Max r5c19 = 17-13 = 4 Min r5c19 = 3 -> Min r46c5 = 13+3 = 16 -> r46c5 = 16|17 = {9(7...
