Ruud, thanks for the daily Jigsaws! I thought that the difficulty of the Killers and the Jigsaws over at sudoku.org.uk is just right for me, but as a very lazy person, I find it a big hassle when trying to input their puzzles into SumoCue... :P Ruud, how is it that I can post to the Daily Jigsaw for...

Ruud's ALS-XZ is so big.
There is a smaller ALS-XZ, actually a Type 2 WXYZ-Wing. The cells involved are r2c8, r2c2, r3c1, r3c2, leading to r2c3<>3.

Sudoku Special, 2006 October 13 (Mystery Letter Sudoku)
Nice little puzzle there.
According to my own solver, after the puzzle is converted to digits, it is solvable using the "easy" techniques plus one UR and one ER.

Re: SudoCue 2.0.0: Two bugs
Many thanks for making fixes so quickly. Bug 1: Load any valid sudoku. Holding the Ctrl key down all the time, click on one empty square, then the second empty square, then the third empty square, and then the third empty square again. Viola, some System.InvalidOperationException --> System.Argument...

SudoCue 2.0.0.x: 3D Medusa.
This has happened in all SudoCue 2.0.0.x releases, up to and including 2.0.0.3, but I haven't got round in posting this until now. With almost locked sets and all 3D Medusa techniques enabled, staring from this: 006200000000004300800035000020000000000000731190000060004053002000700600050082100 By usi...

Unique subset (uniqueness test 3) with naked triple example
In the solving guide, you said that: It is also possible to form a naked triple with the surplus digits and 2 extra cells. Currently, I have no example available. I have an example that I use to test my own solver, but I forgot what is the starting position or where I took it from: .---------------....

SudoCue 2.0.0: Two bugs
Hi Ruud, Really nice work there in SudoCue 2.0.0. However, I would still like to make two bug reports. Bug 1: Load any valid sudoku. Holding the Ctrl key down all the time, click on one empty square, then the second empty square, then the third empty square, and then the third empty square again. Vi...

Re: Maybe we can reconstruct it ...
Sounds like trial-and-error to me... I think guessing and trial-and-error are frowned by the sudoku community.Tomi wrote:Ok, so the next thing I did from here was that I tested how the board would "react" if I put 1 on the 6th row's 2nd column

SudoCue 1.5.1.4: Place All Singles bug.
Hi Ruud, If you "Place All Singles" on an invalid sudoku with a square with no possible candidates (i.e. with no solution), then SudoCue complains with a NullReferenceException. An example is below. . . .|. . .|. . . . . .|. . .|9 . . 1 2 3|4 5 6|7 8 . -----+-----+----- . . .|. . .|. . . ....

SudoCue 1.5.1.4: Two comments on user interface.
Hi Ruud, Many thanks for your SudoCue program. I have used Angus Johnson's solver before coming to SudoCue, and I personally find that the difference between his solver and yours is that: your solver packs a lot more punch than his solver, but his solver is so much easier to use than yours. Two spec...
