Site's back up!

WOOHOO!!! It's good to see the site back up again! It went down while I was browsing the forums, so I was a little concerned, especially when I saw what appeared to be some evidence of hacking.

FYI, sudopedia.org and sudokuvault.com are still messed up.

SudokuSolver can't find its help files. It insists that the help files aren't installed (they are). They're not installed in the default location, but they are in a subdirectory under the SudokuSolver directory (which is also not installed in the default location). Is SudokuSolver hard-coded to look...

You're right! I saw that, but didn't look closely and thought it was the same one. I'll add it to my "specialty puzzles" thread right away.

Heej Enxio Hope your son will be home very soon and in good health. Thanks! He's doing VERY well, and came home yesterday. It's a miracle he survived at all, much less with NO broken bones, NO cuts that required stitches, and NO concussion (his head smashed the windshield). He has to take it easy (...

Thanks! (I also got your PM on this, by the way.)

Any updates on my question about "Show marks"?

I, too, would like to have this feature, so that I can print out the puzzle title and where I got it from.

How's everyone else ocming on this MOAG? I haven't even attempted it yet. I'm working the puzzles that I posted in my "Ruud's specialty puzzles" thread in the order they were released, but I haven't gotten very far. There are a couple of Clueless that I'm going to have to start over with....

You've hit on the key point...practice. When I work on pencil and paper, I also use navy beans to help me 'filter' candidates. Ok, now you have my curiosity up. Please elaborate! Through time, I've learned to eliminate two kinds of candidates from consideration (as far as the above stuff goes): can...

A little niggle: the window for importing the puzzle definition is always in the foreground and in the way, which is quite annoying when I open the window first and then go to Explorer to find the file that contains the definition. I think that the window should be in the foreground whenever Sudoku ...

If an x-wing corresponds to a naked pair, then a swordfish must correspond to a naked triple. It took me a while to understand what you meant by "naked pair" and "naked triple", but I finally got the idea. You're right about it being unconventional. How do you decide (working wi...

Well, 4b WAS going well, but I messed something up there, so I'm going to go back to 4a again, and then start over with 4b. <Sigh!> I know I used some faulty logic with the 4b, but I'm not sure what I did wrong with 4a. I usually work on the puzzles right before bed, and maybe I just got too sleepy.

Just a little bump so that everyone knows this listing is still being maintained and updated. (Editing the original post doesn't change the date of the post so that it shows up as new.) In addition to checking here every week or two, I do a search every couple of months through Ruud's usual haunts, ...

Thanks! I got your email about this, but so far I haven't had time to take a look at it. I'm sure I'll try it out when I start my next Clueless puzzle (or maybe when I try to tackle Clueless 4a again).
