But here's a deal Marlie - you try your first killer and I'll try my first clue-less :D . Just not this weekend though - got a couple other projects happening 8-) . Ed, I made these two especially for you. ;) http://zi4ipw.bay.livefilestore.com/y1prg73FiqRDT5-mr0_eshF-tnAlNu2yDXWwH7brGPEoGTCdr4J--c...

SCE #8

Again thanks to everyone who gives me feedback. I want to emphasize that the single reason I take the time to generate these puzzles, are for you to have a good time solving them. And if you don’t have a good time, I have failed. And the only way for me to know if you had a good time or not are that...

JC could do what I am doing. Clueless: 1) Generate a puzzle that has Naked Singles only, with givens for all the clueless cells. 2) Determine one set of givens(out of many possible sets), excluding the givens in the clueless cells , which can be removed such that the puzzle still has one solution on...

JLynn, Sarah and Pete, thanks for your feedback.

Pete,
Was Substitute Samurai #2 to your liking?
Pete wrote:It seems like even the easy versions are a bit harder than Ruud's
I wonder if my Clueless Explosions are more Center-Dot demanding than Ruuds'? Anyone having an opinion on this?

Noticeably easier than the SCS/SCEs have been. jsmif, thanks for the feedback. Please bear with me while I familiarize myself with the Sudokus my software generate, which only can be done by generating and (time consuming) solving. Generating puzzles is still an unfamiliar terrain for me. Originall...

I agree completely with sudokuEd, Andrew, mhparker and Afmob. Richard, big thanks from me also for taking on this effort. I have now registered with "Sudoku Solvers’ Forum" and it will be my new home, even if Ruud returns. Since Ruud doesn’t even bother to post a single message giving us a...

I wouldn't mind X-wings, but that's about it. I don't like seafood, sudoku-wise. jsmif, Seafood is supposedly very healthy  :P When I generate a puzzle I always get Very Easy, Easy, Moderate, Tough, Extra Hard and harder puzzles, based on required solving techniques. Getting a Hard or a Very ...

Which begs the question: Is the clueless grid in all your Explosions center-dot? To my recollection, all of Ruud's Explosions that I solved never were. As Ruud explains here , in his first 40? Clueless Explosion puzzles the 10th clueless grid was also center-dot. My generation method does not guara...

Substitute Clueless Special #3 This time a puzzle generated by my own software, which I now have completed the first version of. So now I can mass produce Clueless Explosion and Clueless Special puzzles with a yield that seems to be 100%, i.e. every attempt results in a suitable puzzle. Rating base...

What I meant by logic is the reasoning behind the elimination(s). As with many other things in life, personal taste factors in.
I surrender to your logical eliminations  (sure you not have green blood?) and have updated the complete picture.

JC, I beg to differ.
For someone unfamiliar with these techniques, I think that it in this special case it is more difficult to reason out the logic behind your alternative.
For the records, here the complete picture.
