Thanks Ruud! Sorry about your time constraints (troubles).

Symmetry in optimize.

I respect keeping the original.

There should be some room between random and original.

I'd like to see:

Keep original.

Keep any.

Unrestricted. (Perhaps none.)

BTW, I'd keep my settings at "Keep any".

And the lack of response suggests this link. :)

Well, if it is possible, optimize might be allowed to save "some" symmetry.

It should not be requireed to save all symmetry.

Who wants an un-symmetric puzzle? Anyone??
I actually got a request from somebody if I could include asymmetrical sudokus in the Lite series.
OK? 180 degree symmetry is (I think) asymmetry.

Un-symmetry is random. Asymmetry does have some pattern, I thought.

Great explanation Ruud. Very hard for me to spot, I'll use your advice and mark the whole pattern. Thanks.

The "shuffle" function would be dependent on the current symmetry type. There aren't many shuffle possibilities for diagonal symmetry types. Anyhow, I'll put it on the wishlist, but it has a low priority. Ruud It is far better than your current shuffle. Why would it be a low priority, con...

Ruud
I'm seeing that fins only eliminate in their own box.
A pattern can have fins and eliminate in many boxes.

Zoltag , When you place [[Color_Wrap|Color Wrap]] before the finned fish in the solver settings, SudoCue will perform 6 eliminations for digit 4 in a single move. Thanks, I don't use colours. :( Finned fish only perform eliminations in a single box, although subsequent singles will do the remaining...

Sashimi

This general pattern is interesting and mingles somewhat with grouped x patterns when the sashimi part is in one box, finned or not. I have seen cases where Sudoku Cue misses eliminations that are there. Here is the general case that I mean. I see a sashimi sword 1 / / | . / 1 | / / / . . . | . . . ...
