16x16 Sudoku
16x16 Sudoku
Anyone else try these? I've been doing some from the uclick collection. From what I've seen, they're not any harder than 9x9 Sudoku--just more time-consuming. After doing a number of them, though, I've concluded that they're just more tedious than they're worth. Maybe it's all of the listing of candidates that's starting to get to me, and I don't know of any software out there that will do that for you for 16x16 puzzles. Any thoughts, anyone?
Hi Enxio27
JSudoku will handle a 16x16, but the labelling can be a bit cramped as they seem to get output as a long string without spaces. One nice feature is the variation of character size as the number of remaining candidates in a cell reduces. Helps you spot singles and pairs. (I think MadOverlords' program uses a similar technique).
Don't know of any programs that label using a Hexadecimal system. Got a book of problems from the Independent newspaper here in the UK, but got fed up with them for exactly the same reasons as you.
All the best

I have 81 brain cells left, I think.
