Check candidates

Occasionally I get stuck. Often I can restart and next time I don't get stuck.
That would lead me to suscpect mistakes as my problem. I erased the wrong candidate (fumble fingers).
Trouble is, the check button doesn't notice if I erase the correct candidate, and by the time I discover I'm stuck or am in an unsoluable position, I can't back-up and discover my mistake.
