Outties and multiple Nonets

Post by Methuselah »

Hi there.

I can't remember where I got the attached puzzle.
It was called k20080118_163245_IQ_X_c27_22_1.txt

I check the Outties for Nonets 6 and 9.
14+7+22+10+18+16+10 = 97.

Three cells are outties = sum to be 7
Permutation for 7 = 1,2,4 <-- Is this where I lose it ?

Cell F4, I am happy with 2.
Cells E9 and F9 I am not happy with.

Sumocue solves those to be 2 and 3.

Means my Outtie understanding is wrong.
There is no need for the "7" sum to be a normal perm . . .
. . . but it could be any three numbers adding to 7

Code: Select all

3x3:d:k:2825:5643:3332:3332:3332:3590:3590:3590:2312:2825:5643:5643:3358:5902:5902:5902:5657:2312:6683:5643:3604:3358:2070:5902:5657:5657:5657:6683:6683:3604:3358:2070:3617:3617:1826:1826:6683:2094:2863:3111:3111:3111:3617:1826:5685:2094:2094:2863:2863:2618:4914:2620:5685:5685:7223:7223:7223:5954:2618:4914:2620:4677:5685:1608:7223:5954:5954:5954:4914:4677:4677:4167:1608:4170:4170:4170:2636:2636:2636:4677:4167:

Hi Methuselah.

Those outties are not in the same house (r,c, n or diagonal) therefore they can have repeats eg 1,1,5: or 2,2,3.

Killers play many tricks  .

The puzzle is one of DJApe's, and I still make that mistake occasionally.

Hi,
I am still strugling to finish my first Assasin.
But what I am doing is going through the Walktroughs in this forum.
It really helps to see what is the "state of the art".
Helps to compare your approach with that taken by others.
